Kuroneko-sama is a small black cat that Ashley Winchester must manage to catch as an early 'light quest'. The cat's name is not given within the game itself, but is mentioned by the game developers as a direct homage to a character within the Trigun manga.

Though it's difficult to tell from within the game, Kuroneko-sama is actually based on the 'recurring joke' character from the Trigun anime series. Unfortunately, both the bad translation of the game and the fact that Trigun had not yet made an impact in either the United States or Europe at the time kills the joke.
